In addition to the Standing Committees, Council appoints committees that have specific purposes. The lists that follow includes agendas and reports for Committees that have concluded their purpose and that no longer meet.
• Waste Management Strategy Steering Committee
The Waste Management Strategy Steering Committee was formed to develop and recommend a Solid Waste Management Strategy for the County of Simcoe.

• Governance Request for Proposal Sub Committee
As part of the Governance Review undertaken by Council in 2009, Council struck a Sub Committee of the Governance Committee to prepare a Request for Proposal to recruit a consultant to assist in the governance review process.

• Health Care Strategy Steering Committee
The Health Care Strategy Committee was established to recommend strategies to County Council to ensure effective and equitable utilization of County health care tax dollars to help fund health care needs within the County of Simcoe. This committee was also established to address overall health care needs, potential resources and to participate as an equal partner with the Province of Ontario and other key stakeholders in health care decisions for the County of Simcoe. The Health Care Strategy Committee reported to Council through the Human Services Committee.

• Growth Process Committees - 2007
The Growth Process Steering Committee was established by County Council in March, 2007 to oversee the Growth Management Process and the pending Growth Management Directions Report. This Committee's mandate was to strike working groups or sub-committees, and provide overall guidance to the development of growth management plans and policies, as part of the County of Simcoe's Official Plan Review process.
