Residents of the County of Simcoe can now apply for social assistance online. The online application for Social Assistance is:
- Confidential
- Convenient - applicants can access it from the privacy of their own home or from any computer with an internet connection
- Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week
- More accessible for people with disabilities
- Available in English and French
To apply for social assistance online please go to www.ontario.ca/socialassistance.
Residents can also apply for Ontario Works assistance or Temporary Care assistance by contacting the County of Simcoe Integrated Services Unit a (705) 722-3132 or if you live in the Beeton area (905) 729-4514 and follow the auto attendant prompts. You will be asked some basic personal information and an appointment will be set up in a local office to meet with a caseworker who will complete the balance of the application. The interview may take up to 2 hours to complete. As such, we ask that whenever possible you not bring children with you to the interview. Assistance with child care costs is available.
