The purpose of the Simcoe County Childcare Committee (SCCC) is to promote shared responsibility for enhancing quality child care that supports children, families and early learning professionals.

Members also have an opportunity to network with community partners from all geographical areas of the County to promote advocacy and awareness of the importance of early learning and development.


Goals of the SCCC:

  1. To promote the collaborative efforts of the Child, Youth and Families Coalition of Simcoe County.
  2. To promote shared responsibility for the identification, development, management and delivery of services in the best interest of the children and their families.
  3. To foster communications with and link between services and Ministries i.e. MCYS, Health Unit, Education, Special Needs Resource Agencies.
  4. To respond with opinions on child care directions and initiatives from local, provincial and federal sources as appropriate.
  5. To support and promote professional development opportunities for early learning professionals in Simcoe County.

Membership

  • Membership is open to all Child Care Supervisors in Simcoe County.
  • An annual fee of $10.00 per individual will apply and is payable each year in January.
  • Payment may be made in the form of cash or cheque made payable to the Best Start PD Committee c/o the SCCCC. Receipts will be issued for payments.
  • Payments are non-refundable and will not be pro-rated for individuals who join the committee after January each year.
