Strategic Plan
In 2010, The County of Simcoe embarked on a process to develop it's first comprehensive ten-year regional Economic Development and Tourism strategy.
The goal of the strategy was to identified the strategic directions that build off our existing strengths, as well as identify new and emerging opportunities on which to base the future prosperity of the County of Simcoe. The Economic Development and Tourism strategy will also assist in identifying challenges and defining the key principles on which to drive a sustainable regional economy.
As part of this exercise, an extensive consultation process that received input from across Simcoe County on the overall strategic direction for regional economic development and tourism was undertaken. This included discussions on the County’s barriers and challenges to economic growth and regional partnership opportunities for the future. In the end our consultants from Millier Dickinson Blais Inc. received direct input from over 250 stakeholders from all parts of the County.
On June 15, 2011, the strategy was officially presented to the Corporate Services Committee which recommended to County Council that the plan be adopted. At the County Council meeting held on June 28, 2011 the attached plan was formally adopted by County Council.
