NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

FOR PROPOSED NEW

OFFICIAL PLAN FOR THE COUNTY OF SIMCOE

TAKE NOTICE that the Corporation of the County of Simcoe will hold a public meeting on August 13, 2008 at 9 a.m. in the Council Chambers at the Simcoe County Administration Centre, 1110 Highway 26, in Midhurst. The purpose of the public meeting is to obtain public comments on the proposed new Official Plan of the County of Simcoe under Section 17(15) of the Planning Act R.S.O. 1990, c. P. 13.

The proposed new County of Simcoe Official Plan sets out systems for urban growth and development, natural and cultural heritage conservation, the use of agricultural and rural lands, transportation and other infrastructure, local municipal official plans, and related matters.

A copy of the proposed Official Plan is available for review at the County of Simcoe Planning Department, or on the County website at www.simcoe.ca.

The proposed new Official Plan and related mapping can be viewed through: attendance at the County of Simcoe Administration Centre Planning Department or Office of the County Clerk.

Any Person may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed new Official Plan. If you wish to make written comments, or want to be notified of further meetings, or of the adoption of the proposed Official Plan, please write to the County Clerk at the address noted below.

Approval of the Official Plan: The proposed new Official Plan is being processed in accordance with the provisions of the Planning Act which designates the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing as the approval authority. As such this proposed Official Plan is not subject to appeal until and unless approved by the Minister.
